What I learned about myself

Throughout this activity, I learned a lot about myself and realised how privileged I really am, as I never have to worry about issues like where my next meal is going to come from. To begin with, I learned that I am relatively good at picking up new skills when it came to cooking. Also, I learned how important it is to give back to the community especially when you are more privileged. When I was delivering the food to the families I went to many places in Bermuda that I have never seen before and saw living situations that were a lot worse then mine, which made me much more grateful for everything that I have.

What I learned about the community:

During this activity, I also learned things about the community in Bermuda. Mainly, I learned about how different peoples lifestyles can be throughout the island. I learned that even though it is such a small island people can have extremely different living conditions and that there is much more poverty on the island that I had previously realised. Finally, I learned about how well the community can work together to help those in need.

What I learned about food:

During this experience, I learned a lot about how certain foods are prepared, as many of the food that I made I had never made before. I also learned that food is very important and that we should try our best to waste as little as possible.
