Annie's Lucious Lemon Squares
I chose this dish (lemon bars) because it was a specialty of my grandmother (my mother’s mother) and she would bake them often. My grandmother and her family would bake and eat the lemon bars on holidays and special occasions. Though my grandmother passed away a few years ago, my family has continued to make this dish. My grandmother passed the recipe down to my mother, and now my mother has passed it down to me.
Lemon Bars
Crust
1 cup melted butter (room temperature)
2 ½ cups flour
½ cup confectionary sugar
Mix and pat in 9”x 13” pan
Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes
Lemon Sauce
4 eggs
2 cups granulated sugar
6 tbls. lemon juice
4 tbls. flour
Dash of salt
1 tsp. baking powder
Mix and pour over crust
Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes
