Enjoy Eoghan's Nutty Newtella

I chose to make newtella because I love Nutella, but it has a lot of sugar in it. Newtella it is a sweet homemade treat that is a lot healthier then Nutella which most of us like and it even tastes better than Nutella. I love it spread on crepes and toast. I also choose it because it had a lot of steps to it, and many tasty tips. 

Chocolate Newtella Recipe

Ingredients:

350g hazelnuts

75ml maple syrup

4tbsp raw cocoa powder

2tsp vanilla extract

½ tsp salt

 

Method:

v Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

v  Tip hazelnuts onto large baking tray and roast for 8-10 minutes or until roasted and golden.

v Allow the hazelnuts to cool slightly before pouring onto a clean, dry, tea towel and wrap up.

v Roll the nuts in the tea towel until their skins are loosened and can be removed easily.

v Transfer skinned nuts to a food processor and blend for about 6 minutes until you have a thick, creamy nut butter, scraping the sides down as you go.

v Add the remaining ingredients and 75ml of water.

v Blend until you have a smooth mixture.

v Transfer to a jar and then you have homemade newtella. This will last in the fridge for 3 weeks.
