Dine at Divots with WTC

Dine at Divots with WTC

If you could imagine dining in a fishbowl surrounded by the turquoise waters of the Great Sound and the lush green hills of Belmont Golf Course, then you'd probably be dining at  Divots Bar, Grill & Terrace. Bermuda's newest hotspot is a family-friendly restaurant with flexible dining options for the budget conscious diner. But what else would you expect from a restaurant brought to you by the owners of one of Bermuda's favourite restaurants—Flanagans? Offering everything from a take-out "Half-way house" for golfers or those looking for a casual bite, to a casual-elegant dining, Divots has something for everyone.

Overall, Divot’s was an amazing restaurant that I would recommend to my friends and family.

This is a very creative restaurant!

The chefs of WTC were lucky to be one of the first groups to try out what is soon to be another Bermuda favourite. It's hard to know whether to start with the spot-on service, the bright and cheerful decor or the fanastic view (and yes, we could see the America's Cup action), but for our student chefs, it all came down to great food. And let's just say we were a little bit spoiled! Thank you Divots. We'll be back!! For a full menu visit their Facebook page or the Divots, Bar, Grill & Terrace website

It all began with the salads....

Divots ceasar salad was to die for. It had nice fresh green lettuce leaves and the cheese was grated and lightly sprinkled around the salad. They put on a very nice dressing that did not over power any other flavors in the salad. They also didn’t drown the salad with dressing. It was drizzled around the salad with amazing presentation.

Arugula, Apple and Balsamic Vinaigrette Salad

The arugula, apple and balsamic vinaigrette salad was one of the best salads I have had. Usually when I have an arugula salad I don’t like it, because I find the leaves are bitter and sometimes I don’t find the vinaigrette is sweet enough to offset the bitterness of the arugula.  The one at Divots was so good that I went back for seconds and then thirds. The arugula was very fresh and tasted amazing with the vinaigrette.

Then came the nuggets and nachos!

   Wahoo Bites

Wahoo Bites

Divot’s wahoo bites are amazing. They have a nice crispy shell even though the bite is not deep fried for very long (like most restaurants do.) Instead they flash fry them and then bake them in the oven in order to get the crispy shell that everyone loves. The chefs also use fresh wahoo instead of frozen.  The fish was flakey and delicious!

These nachos were a one of a kind. The nachos were covered with cheddar cheese, red onion, cilantro, seasoned beef, and sour cream. Personally, these nachos were probably the best nachos I have ever had!

Pesto and Goat Cheese Flatbread

The pesto and goat cheese flatbread was one of the best flatbreads that I have had.  I enjoyed it so much because the flatbread was very thin and it was topped with a thin layer of pesto and chunks of goat cheese.  The pesto and goat cheese went together perfectly. It was delicious!

I really enjoyed the Hawaiian Barbecue Pizza because it added a nice savory flavor. I found this dish to be unique due to the fact it uses barbecue sauce rather than tomato sauce. I like that the crust is thin as well. The pizza was very nice and overall I think that this is a great idea.

Sandwiches...

yummy.....

The Chicken Thai sandwich had an amazing texture, with crispy toasted bread, chicken, and lettuce. The sandwich tasted amazing and no ingredient was overpowering. The fries were superb and were flavoured excellently.

During our visit to Divots, we ate delicious tuna sandwiches. They were presented beautifully with the triangular cut sandwiches around the plate, and perfectly seasoned French fries in the middle. Inside each sandwich was tuna, tomatoes, and lettuce. This was all put together in toasted white bread. They tasted absolutely wonderful. There was nothing left on the plate in the end! These sandwiches were definitely one of my favorite dishes.

My absolute favorite; the sandwich I’ll be returning for (soon)... Thai Chicken Salad. An upscale take on an old stand-by at a crazy reasonable price!

I also tried their pink lemonade which was very good. I think that on a hot day it is the perfect drink. I find it to be very refreshing and a wonderful summer drink.

Philly Cheese Steak

The Philly Cheese Steak was definitely one of my favorite dishes of the day. It was cheesy, but not too much that it took the rest of the flavor away. The steak was cooked to perfection and it was very tender and not at all dry. It also had a bun around it and the bun was very soft and went well with the other flavors. Inside of the bun there were also some jalapeños. I would normally not eat jalapeños but these were so good that I had to. I strongly recommend the Philly Cheese Steak for anyone who loves the combination of cheese, steak, bread, and yumminess.

The Alfredo pasta was delicious and the chicken in the pasta was very good and had a lot of flavor. The alfredo sauce was great and creamy.
— Talie Lonfat
The pasta was in a delicious creamy sauce, with a breadstick at the top. The chicken was flavoured well, and was cut into bite sized pieces.

Gorgeous presentation!

The first thing I thought of when I took a bite of this dish was delicious! It started off with this lovely luscious sauce with the taste of peanut, cumin, cayenne pepper and cilantro. There was also tender shrimp submerged in sauce. Overall, the flavor of the curry was a mild and not too spicy which everyone enjoyed.
— Jaedyn Judd
One of my favorites was the Shrimp Curry. Usually, I don’t like curry, but I tried Divot’s curry and I loved it. It had been poured into a bowl and was garnished on the top. The shrimp was the perfect size and the curry was not too spicy which is just the way I like it! To go along with the curry, there was white rice that we could put in our bowls with the curry on top. This dish was very flavorful and I would have it again for sure!

And finally....Dessert!

The cake was light and mousey, and the icing wasn’t too sweet.

The chocolate caramel cake was delicious!
— Talie Lonfat
We weren’t planning on dessert but we got the Chocolate Caramel Cake. It was delicious and exceeded my expectations by a mile. It was gooey, chewy, and moist. The Chocolate Caramel Cake was also topped with an amazing chocolate sauce which brought the whole dish together. It was basically a cake with an amazing combination of caramel and chocolate, hence the name. The cake was dense, not dry, and it left me wanting more. This was my favorite dessert and it was great.
— Siena Bonanno
The Chocolate Caramel Cake was very delicious, too. It was like a square piece of heaven. It was also topped with a strawberry and a wafer stick and whipped cream on the side. On the plate was chocolate sauce that had been spread and chocolate powder that was sprinkled. It tasted absolutely marvelous!
— Maya Rajeh
I’d love to say the desserts were great, but I never got to try them.....Gone in 30 seconds!
— Carolyn Amaral
The Chocolate Soufflé cake was splendid. The chocolate wasn’t too rich or too sweet and the middle was very satisfying with its warm, ooziness. It was presented gorgeously with whipped cream on the side as well as strawberries and a berry sauce spread across the plate, topped with a single strawberry, chocolate sauce, and a wafer stick. Once it was put on the table, it was gone as quickly as it came!
— Maya Rajeh
The chocolate cake was rich and the chocolate inside of the cake was warm and spread out when you put your spoon in.
— Talie Lonfat
The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and the food was spectacular. The restaurant had apple green accents, which added some pop. Also, the restaurant had big windows that allowed you to see the America’s Cup races. It was really nice that you could see the races on a TV screen in front of you while watching the boats
