Andrew's Canadian Poutine

Andrew's Canadian Poutine

For my week on the Write to Cook, I made poutine because it's a Canadian traditional food. It is french fries with cheese and gravy. I have it all the time when I go to Canada and I also make it a lot at my house. I wanted to share this Canadian recipes with my fellow chefs.  Even though I make this all the time I never get tired of it.  The french fries did not turn out as we expected but the meal was still amazing. Now that I am in this club I am making more food at home.

Poutine Recipe

Fresh Cut Potatoes

1-2 packages of Chicken or Turkey Gravy

Shredded cheddar cheese or cheese curds if available

Method:

Cut potatoes into fries and soak in cold water for an hour

Cook in hot oil or toss in oil and oven fry

Mix gravy according to package

Grate cheese

When fries are cooked, sprinkle with cheese, add gravy and enjoy!

It’s REALLY GOOD!
